MMF Takes Monumental Step Forward, Passes Resolution Allowing Non-Binary Gender Identity on Citizenship Cards

The Two-Spirit Michif Local thanks the Manitoba Metis Federation for their progressive support of 2SLGBTQ+ Citizens in Manitoba, and for demonstrating real leadership on these matters!

The MMF Cabinet unanimously adopted a resolution that will enable non-binary Métis Citizens who identify as neither male nor female to identify as such on their citizenship cards (Voter ID and Harvester card). All Citizens will now be able to select a gender-neutral option. Citizens who already have their cards can request to have their cards reprinted and revised at no cost to them.
